JOHN WALKER & SON King George V CNY 2022, Limited Edition design for John Walker & Sons King George V was launched recently to celebrate 2022. It is a rare combination of exquisite Scotch whiskies, drawn from extremely rare, precious casks, including irreplaceable whiskies from the now silent distillery of Port Ellen. An elegantly rich and creamy whisky it has rarity reflected in every drop, and this new limited-edition design is the perfect gift.
Designed by Artist Jiang Shan and features the Baize, a mythical creature that is a symbol of virtuous, auspicious, might, nobleness, and protection from evil. John Walker & Sons King George V introduces a new Chinese New Year limited edition, creating a unique take from modern fashion luxury. In the gift box, brand booklet and red packets are included. John Walker & Sons King George V Edition blends some of the rarest whiskies from distilleries in existence during the reign of King George V from 1910 to 1936, including Benrinnes, Cardhu, and the precious casks of silent distilleries Port Ellen and Port Dundas.
A special extension of the Johnnie Walker range, King George V celebrates the first Royal Warrant granted to John Walker and Sons Ltd to supply Scotch whisky to the British Royal Household in 1934, and is apparently designed to recreate how JW might have tasted back in the day. Some Port Ellen has been used, alongside Cardhu, Lochnagar, and some very old grain whisky.
The design celebrates this year’s Year of the Tiger, with bespoke artwork that is a modern take on traditional Chinese patterns and designs – inspired by Asian couture. Featuring a contemporary knot design as a nod to the traditional practice of weaving and hanging knots for good fortune for the new year. Every drop of Johnnie Walker is an invitation to a moment shared – and moments yet to come.
